Information at Community Office
Wiveliscombe has become a ‘Walkers are Welcome’ town and as part of this we are encouraging more people in Wiveliscombe and the surrounding area to get out and enjoy our beautiful countryside. We also hope more people will visit us and discover Wiveliscombe, the surrounding villages and of course the extensive footpath network.
There are two walking groups, each of which meets twice a month. Details are available in Wiveliscombe House and on the notice board in Wiveliscombe Square.
- Regular ‘Wivey Walkers’ walk about 4-8 miles on the first Wednesday of every month. Meet in The Square for a circular walk. Also on a Saturday in the middle of the month. Meet in Croft Way car park to car share for a walk up to an hour away.
Further details from Ann Scotter email@example.com or message at Wiveliscombe House (01984 624777).
- Gentle ‘Wivey Walkers’ walk 1-2 miles every 2 weeks on Thursdays. Meet in The Square for a circular walk.
Further details from firstname.lastname@example.org (01984 623308) or The Post Office, Wiveliscombe.
Both groups would be delighted to meet new people whether locals or visitors. No booking or cost is involved to join these walks.
The Wiveliscombe Circular Walks Book is widely available in Wiveliscombe £3.90. It is also available in Taunton. It gives easy to follow details of 11 circular walks from Wiveliscombe Square from 1-23 miles long.
Some free leaflets are available in Wiveliscombe House describing a few additional walks in Wiveliscombe and also further afield in Taunton Deane.
Additional walks are arranged during the year:
1. New Years Day
2. Sponsored walks to support local charities.
